1995 kidnapping of western tourists in Jammu and Kashmir was an act of kidnapping of six foreign tourists by Al-Faran, a terrorist organisation, from the Liddarwat area of Pahalgam in Anantnag district in south Jammu and Kashmir on July 4, 1995.
The six victims included two British tourists, Keith Mangan and Paul Wells; two Americans, John Childs and Donald Hutchings; a German, Dirk Hasert; and a Norwegian, Hans Christian Ostro.
The kidnappers demanded the release of Maulana Masood Azhar and 20 other terrorists. Several national and international organisations issued appeals to Al-Faran to release the tourists. Representatives of the embassies of the victims' countries also visited Kashmir frequently to seek their release, without success.

pakistan's ISI(inter-services intelligence)has been shown to have spent nearly 3 billion dollars a year in financing all-too-known terrorist outfits and training camps in pakistan and POK..........
the quetion is:if killing and kidnapping innocent people is terrorism.......then what of financing such outfits?????????
today,the ISI still has the same goal,but is using a different tactic alog with its old ways........the AAZADI DO movement in kashmir led by hurriyat,is nought but a movement to put up a puppet regime for the pakisani army to sweep aside and annex indian territory.......................
and all this when pakistan's and china's occupation of indian territory has never been justified nor accepted...........
still,a map of pakistan bought in karachi or islamabad will include POK in it;even when the UN and other international organisations show it is still a part of india...........
is this not a matter that has required the intervention of international authorities???????/
